You Warm My Heart

I played with my Prehistoric Pals and Have an Ice Day sets from Sugar Pea Designs this afternoon to make a card with Sugar Sketch 42.  I grabbed some papers that were on my desk (ummm.... there are LOTS of papers on my desk right now!) and put them together... complete with the reverse scallop that looks like the friendly dinosaur chewed on the edge. : )

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Viva La Verve!

I'm playing along with this week's Viva La Verve sketch with some inspiration from The Challenge.  I stamped my Verve Plain Jane in Dusty Rose and Dark Chocolate inks from Gina K and cut them out with a Pierced Square die.  The flowers are from the Verve set "Good Work".

Have a splendiferous afternoon!

Hello

It's time for me to play along with another Sugar Sketch over at Sugar Pea Designs!

I pulled out my sweet "Everyday is Christmas" set from Sugar Pea Designs and colored up the "calling bird" for my card today.  I used a typewritten background stamp to help ground my image and dug around until I found this Gina K set with word bubbles and sentiments.  I thought it would make a fun thinking of you card!

Here's the sketch...

Cupcake Inspirations with Bella

Hi everyone!

I have the honor of being the "surprise Sweetie" over on the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge blog today!  I hope you'll play along with us.  Just make a card using the challenge colors of grass, sky blue and white and link up your creation on the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge blog!

Here's my card...

I used my sweet Bella sitting on Presents stamp from Wild Rose Studio on my card and a sentiment from Verve.  I stamped my image in Versafine ink on Ranger Watercolor paper and clear embossed it, then watercolored it with my Distress and SU markers.  The pretty iridescent string is from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and the dies are MFT's BluePrints 20.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Taylored Thanks

Hello friends!

It is grey and gloomy outside today, so how about a card in warm colors?

I used the pretty new Taylored Expressions set Wildflower Bouquet that my daughter gifted me with, and stamped it with Versafine ink on watercolor paper, then watercolored it with distress markers.  I was inspired by the following challenges...

Share Joy - sketch and tic-tac-toe (watercolor, flowers, coloring) - for a friend who sent a sweet email the other day!
The Card Concept - flowers and mason jar... with a "sort of clean with lots of layers" card
- is that a style??

Sharing Smiles TicTacToe - Thank You, Distress Ink, Plants

On a totally unrelated note...  do you enjoy using sequins on your cards?  I find myself remembering making dolls and ornaments out of styrofoam with hundreds and hundreds of sequins and little pins when I was about 7 or 10.   One little blond 4th of July doll with extra furry pipe cleaner arms and a bodice and skirt of red, white and blue sequins keeps coming to mind...  Isn't it interesting how fashions come round again with a new twist??

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Especially you challenge DT members who are busy, busy, busy.  Thank you for taking time to look and comment!

Lizards and Dinosaurs

Greetings, friends!!

I have two cards to share today - both for company challenges and both featuring reptiles that are pink.  Hmmm...  I'll just call them happy cards!

I used the colors from the YNS challenge and grabbed my sketch idea from this week's sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  The adorable lizard is from the Happy Dance set.

Then we have another pink reptile for the Sugar Pea Designs sketch challenge.

Just ignore the little smudge on the dinosaur's body, ok?  I got the card all done and then proceeded to drop my block on it.  uggh.  I left it last night and when I looked at it again it sort of seemed to blend in, so I just left it.  I am obviously not as much of a perfectionist as I used to be.  LOL!

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Be sure to take a smile to share with others!!

Blessings!

Verve Inspiration

Hello again!

Did you see the pretty inspiration picture for this month's Diva Dare over at Verve?  I decided to combine some of its elements with the Viva La Verve sketch and came up with this card...

I used the gorgeous Good Work set and dies, and variegated my sentiment by swiping a Charcoal Brown ink pad over certain words after I had inked it up with Kraft ink.

Thanks for stopping by!

Loving Lion

Hello again!

I had so much fun today making some bookmarks for the library!  When I was done I decided to make a card with the new Share Joy sketch using the Mane Event stamp set that my daughter got for me. : ) I LOVE that it has the matching die included.  It even cuts out between the tail and the boday and between the head and the flowers.  So fun!  I want to send this to my other daughter and it isn't her birthday, so I'm hoping that I can find the sentiment stamp I have that says, "Until further notice, celebrate everything."  Only I can't remember if it was in a set, or just by itself!  Hmmmm....

Here's the sketch I followed...

and, just for fun, here are the bookmarks that I made today using Sugar Pea Designs Prehistoric Pals set...

I just love the little one that is waving!

Puppy Love

Good Monday morning to you!

I'm playing along with a couple of challenges with this Valentine in non-traditional colors.  I think I'll add some chocolate and give it to my son and his wife for Valentine's day.  Even grown ups need Valentines!! :)

I'm playing along with the Share Joy challenge using the sketch and the Paper Players, whose challenge is to use a dog or a cat.

The paper pack I used today is actually a fall one - Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice.  The little dog is Watson from Taylored Expressions and the sentiment is from TE's Much Love set.  Watson is colored with copics and Spectrum Noir markers and has gel pen accents.

Thanks for dropping by today!

A Pile of Presents

Hello again!

Yes, two Bella the Elephant Wild Rose Studios stamps happened to drop into my cart the other day!!  (If you don't follow my blog, I just posted another Bella card HERE.) This one works perfectly with the Fusion card sketch flipped.  See the pile of three??  Of course... two presents and one elephant!! :)  The extra strip at the bottom is to cover up the sentiment that didn't stamp right.  I am really looking forward to my mini MISTI shipping in early March!!   I think I'll tuck this into the Simon Says Stamps challenge to Use Something New as well!

Sending Love

Hello friends!

I absolutely fell in love with this image the other day when Leslie Miller posted this card on her blog.  It is discontinued, but I finally found it at The Fruit of My Hands.  I think she only has one left so RUN right now and get it if you like it!! : )

I'm playing in four challenges today...

For The Card Concept I was inspired by the hearts and the colors.  My style???  Hmmm.... I guess this one could be considered Mixed Media, since I used both watercolors and copics. : )

For this week's Tic Tac Toe challenge I followed the Stitching / Flowers / Sketch line.
I used faux stitching around my image and transposed the sketch so the triangles are on the opposite corners.

And then the Color Throwdown challenge.  Perfect colors for this image!

And, last but not least, this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Have a Heart.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Zinnia Mojo

Hi again!

I have one more card to share tonight - featuring the Zinnia Bouquet from Taylored Expressions and a sentiment from Verve.  I used the Mojo Monday sketch, followed the colors and used a banner from the Cupcake Inspirations challenge, and used flowers, a die cut and yellow for the Paper Players Challenge. Whew! :)

I am so thankful for all of the DT members for the different challenges I play in.  Thanks for your comments and your beautiful cards!!

Blessings!

A Sun and Shield

Hi everyone!  I was having fun in my craft room making bookmarks for the library, but I remembered that I needed a couple more cards to tuck in with my GraceWorks orders tomorrow, so I picked out a few challenges to inspire me.

This card uses Wisteria Wonder paper from Gina K Designs and a sentiment from Verve.  I used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday, and I'm entering it in the Word Art Wednesday challenge as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

More Flip-It Fun

Hi everyone!!

I'm back today with another Flip-It card.  I am having SO much fun with this Sizzix Flip-It Circle #4 die set!!  Today I wanted to challenge myself to use ONLY the dies that came in the set.  It was so fun to think "out of the box" with a few of them.  The flower in the lower right is actually the smallest scalloped circle included in the set.  I snipped it to have "petals", then sponged the edges and used a white gel pen to add dots.  The leaves are actually the open circle border that is under the "hi", just cut in half.  And the clouds?  They are the shadow die for one of the words included in the set!

So. Much. Fun!

I think I might be asking for a Stamps of Life gift certificate for Valentine's Day!! : )

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs

Hi again!

I have a card I made for the Share Joy challenge to share tonight, but I just realized that when I copied the sketch I forgot to mark where the sentiment was to go... so I put mine at the top and it was supposed to be at the bottom.  SIGH!  Oh well!  I like the card and I know my friend will like it, so I'm going to leave it as is. :)

Here's the graphic in case you'd like to play along!

The Curtain Call - Happy Day

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited to be guest designing with the gals at The Curtain Call challenge this week!

Here is the inspiration picture for today's challenge...

I drew my inspiration from the colors, the flowers and the white center of the front sachet and came up with this...

A little faux stitching, a happy sentiment from Verve and some flowers from one of my favorite paper packs ever, My Mind's Eye Notable.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  You can find all the challenge details HERE on the Curtain Call blog.  I hope you'll have a chance to play along.  Who knows!  Maybe YOU will be the next guest designer!! :)
