{Viva La Verve} May Sketches

Hi everyone!  I have a bunch of cards to share with you today!  Yesterday I realized that another month had gone by in which I hadn't made time to play along with the Viva La Verve sketch challenge.  I LOVE the VLV Sketch Challenge!!  So I gave myself permission to make simple cards.  My guidelines were that I wanted each one to have a Scripture verse on it, and I wanted to use my MME Notable patterned paper.

Here are the finished products...

Won't they make a fun set?  Simple and mailable... except maybe for the buttons on the second one.  I'm going to go post these in my SCS gallery so I can enter them all separately!!  : )

Thanks for stopping by!

{Stamp Simply} Fur Babies

I got to play with two JustRite sets for my card today.  I stamped the puppy from the Pet Sympathy in Versamark and then in black ink onto a piece of watercolor paper and embossed it with clear embossing powder so I could watercolor it with my distress markers.  Then I stamped the greetings from the Furry Friends set and cut out my focal image with a pierced rectangle die, since I was following the Deconstructed Sketch for my layout.  I decorated my rust mat with little paw prints from the Furry Friends set and then assembled my card with a piece of patterned paper from the Graphic 45 Home Sweet Home pad.  I didn't plan it that way, but if you look up in the right hand corner of the paper it says "That is home".  Isn't that perfect for this card??

So glad you stopped by today!  Here's my Stamp Simply shopping list....

Celebrations Cardstock - (blue)

Edited to add.... Wouldn't you know it?  I used the Deconstructed Sketch for this card and forgot to link it!!

{Stamp Simply} Sing!

Good morning, friends!  Are you as happy as the birdy on my card this morning?  She's from a sweet JustRite set that I just got from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I stamped her on white cardstock and colored her, and after I cut her out I shaped her little body and attached her to my Baby Buntings card base with a square of 3D foam.  I love how she looks rounded!  I pulled out some On Trend paper from My Mind's Eye for my background and followed the sketch over at Your Next Stamp for my layout.  Here's my Stamp SImply shopping list...

Have a happy Thursday!

The Strength of My Heart

It was a "play along with some challenges" sort of afternoon and the challenge at Retro Rubber was May flowers.  When I started to look through my older flower stamps this verse from Our Daily Bread caught my eye, and since their challenge this week includes the word "beautiful" and the picture has flowers, I thought it would be perfect with an old Flourishes pansy - now retired.  "The Challenge" also had flowers in their photo - perfect!!
I stamped off the pansies and colored them lightly with copics.  Then I embossed the verse over the top.  Just a sweet and simple card with some classic stamps and a message that never will go out of style.

{Deconstructed Sketch} Hugs from Watson

Stamps:  Watson (Taylored Expressions), TAC set (Retired); Paper: MME Notable; Ink:  GKD Wild Cherry, GKD Black Onyx, Memento Black; Dies:  Watson (TE); Fence and Grass (Sweet n Sassy), Stitched Flag (MFT); Other:  Buttons, Scrappers Floss, Acetate, Spectrum Noir Markers, 3D Foam, Heart Glitter

I have a card to share for this week's Deconstructed Sketch featuring Watson from Taylored Expressions and a sentiment from a retired Angel Company set.  We got to choose our own sketch this week, so I chose #157 because it looked perfect for a shaker card.  I just love coloring Watson.  He's so precious. : )  And I love having the matching dies for him.  It's Soooooo much easier than cutting him out!!

Thanks so much for dropping by!

{Stamp Simply} A Song in Your Heart

This card just makes me smile!  The Celebrations cardstock is such a pretty color and the wreath is so leafy and delicate.  It's like a little bit of spring!

I made a narrow card today - 3.5" x 5.5".  I used the JustRite Rose Garden stamp to make my subtle background, then stamped the wreath, flowers and bird and cut them out.  I colored the flowers and the bird with Spectrum Noir and copic markers and arranged them on my wreath, then I popped up parts of the wreath and added a sentiment stamped on a Spellbinders Petite Pennants die.

{Color Throwdown 342} Thankful for You!

Hi everyone!  I'm SO excited to be joining the gals over at the Color Throwdown Challenge blog for today's challenge!!  We had a fun palette to work with - all bright colors which I love!  Here's the color palette...

And here's my card...

I pulled out a new favorite - Zinnia Bouquet from Taylored Expressions - and an old favorite - a sentiment from The Angel Company that is long retired.  The sweet little butterfly is from the MFT Notched Tag DieNamics set.  I stamped my Zinnias on Gina K Heavy BaseWeight white and colored them with Spectrum Noir, Copic and Prismacolor markers.  I added some gel pen to the bucket to give it an enamelware look.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll come again soon!!

{TCP Tuesday} You Make Me Happy

Hi everyone!

TCP Tuesday has a pretty inspiration picture for their challenge this fortnight.

The bird in the picture reminded me of this patterned paper I had in my stash from Gina K.  Isn't it perfect for the shabby look?  I used the gorgeous Petal Posie Cutups and a sentiment from Bearing Flowers.

Thanks for stopping by today!

{Stamp Simply} Buttercup Tiles

Hello again!

My son is working on the kitchen in his house - tearing off old tile and replacing it - and it gave me the idea for this card. : )  I stamped my buttercups onto a piece of white cardstock and colored them with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers.  Then I centered the Tic Tac Toe die over my flowers to cut the center lines.  Then all I needed to do to get the little squares was to trim around the outside edges.  I arranged my squares on a piece of  yellow cardstock and attached a Petite Pennant flag with a wooden clip.  I popped up my focal panel over another piece of patterned paper which was attached to my card base.

In My Thoughts

Good morning!

I have a pile of dishes calling to me, so I decided to make a card first to work myself up to the housework part of the day. : )

I used the colors from Color Throwdown and the sketch from Your Next Stamp.  My image is from Flourishes (discontinued) and my sentiment is from the JustRite set Caring Thoughts Sentiments.  I used paper from two Gina K Designs paper packs and Gina K Warm Cocoa ink for my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!
