Watercoloring a Favorite

Freshly Made Sketches had such a cute sketch this past week, and I thought it would be a perfect way to showcase my favorite Magnolia stamp - Tilda with Hat - for the Midweek Magnolia challenge.  She is one I got right when I first found the Magnolia stamps and she's been hiding in my drawer for a year or so, so it was time to bring her out again.  I watercolored her with Tombows and SU markers, and I think she's just precious!  Let's see... other notes on the card... the sentiment is from a set by The Angel Company (out of business), the designer paper is from my scrap basket and is retired paper from Stampin Up!, and the cute Wonky Scallop Border Die-Namics is from My Favorite Things.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Here's a list of the challenges I had in mind...

MFT Guest DT Contest - April

Hi everyone!

My card today is my entry for this month's Guest DT contest at My Favorite Things.  Since this is the last time they will be doing it in this particular way, I definitely wanted to play along, so I pulled out a bunch of my favorite things and sat down to create.

BluePrint DieNamics? Check.  Pretty Poppies set? Check..  A Pure Innocence set?  Check.  Stitching?  Check.  Ribbon?  Check. My Wonky Scallop Border? Check.  Copics? Check!!  All present and accounted for! : )  The card sort of built itself since I was following a sketch and the only thing that might need some explanation is her skirt.  She is NOT paper pieced.  I simply colored her with copics and added dots and spots with a white signo gel pen.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Timeless Stamping on Tuesday

The challenge at Timeless Tuesday this week is to use sewing on your card.  I used the sketch from Try Stamping on Tuesday and stamps from both the Easter Wishes and Summer Blossoms sets by Flourishes.  The flowers were colored with copics after having been stamped on Flourishes Ivory cardstock.  The dp is from My Mind's Eye.

Thank you for stopping by!!

More Minis

It was mini card day today!  I love having these to tuck into packages and I wanted to play with my mini Magnolia stamps, so it was a perfect fit.  I used the large SB Long Rectangle die to make little scalloped bases for my cards and used Flourishes, TAC and Magnolia stamps to decorate them...

I think this one is my favorite...

Flourishes:   Easter Wishes

Easter Wishes

Bring on Spring! is this week's Timeless Tuesday challenge at Flourishes.  I wanted to make an Easter card for my parents using the Easter Wishes set, but first I had to find my stamping desk.  It was hiding under a mountain of creativity. : )  I kept my layout very simple and just added some stitching, a few pearls and a button tied with Scrapper's Floss, to my image that I'd colored with Copics.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Pretty, Pretty Poppies

Sigh!  This MFT Pretty Poppies set is SO pretty!  And the Blueprints dies make layering a breeze.  I highly recommend them both!

The Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge this week was to feature green on your card.  I made a CAS card with the Daffodils from Year in Flowers 1 and a sentiment from Botanical Bookplates...

Have you been following this month's release??  I think the tulip one from yesterday is SO pretty!  I can't wait to see the sets in full!

Thanks for dropping in for a visit!!

Mini Magnolias

Happy Thursday, friends!

If any of you have been around my blog for a few years, you know that I've always loved Magnolia stamps.  I finally stopped stamping with them though, because I didn't seem to have the Magnolia style of lacy fluffiness.  Well, last week I was SO thrilled to be able to get some of the Mini Magnolia stamps from Diana at Magnolia-licious with a gift certificate I'd won during a SplitCoast challenge.  The stamps came today and they are SO cute.  They are tiny and easy to color and perfect as a small focal image on a "normal" card or even a 3x3 mini card, which is what I made today.  Still no fluffiness in my stamping, but I think it turned out sweet anyway.  Just look at that face!!

I'm entering it in a few challenges...

Flourishes New Release Challenge

Hello again, friends!

I spent some time this afternoon stamping a card for the "Colorful Creations" challenge at Flourishes in preparation for the new release.  Here are the colors...

And here's my card!

I used the tulip bucket from the April Showers set and some pieces of patterned paper and cardstock that I found in my scrap bucket and made a CAS Thinking of You card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Little Lamb

Today's card is a just for fun card.  I was so blessed to win the Easter Wishes set from one of the Flourishes blog hops and I couldn't wait to play with it.  Isn't the lamb PRECIOUS???  And I love the verse.  It is perfect for every occasion.  I didn't stress over the layout at all... in fact both the bottom layout and the dp mat are pieced together to make the pieces big enough. : )  I colored it with copics and used one of the new BluePrints sketches from MFT as my jumping off point.  I wanted to see if I would actually use the BluePrint dies that they are releasing.  I think the answer is YES!  This card came together quickly and I think it might have been even quicker if all the pieces were die cut for me!

Hello, hello, hello!

Hooray!  It's time for Timeless Tuesday on the Flourishes blog!! :)  I love Tuesdays!  This week the challenge is to use dry embossing or something corrugated on your card.  I must be an over-achiever, because I used both!  LOL!

I stamped my umbrella from April Showers on a circle diecut, colored the handle and then ran it through my Cuttlebug in the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  Before attaching my little umbrella top with 3d tape, I colored in the center of the circle with my BG10 marker... supposedly to make it look like a rain shower...

I followed was inspired by the Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch so i added a couple of brads to the top of the main image, and tucked my sentiment (from Mix n Mugs) in the corner.

Thanks so much for dropping by!
