Hugs and Kisses

Hello friends!

I had some time this afternoon and this design had been wandering around in my brain for a while, so i decided to see if I could put it on paper. :)  I used the Upsy Daisy DieNamics for the flowers, the Notched Tag DieNamics for the tag and butterflies, the Well Worn Greetings DieNamics for the little trellis-ed area (which I made with strips of white cardstock), and the Wonky Scallop border on the bottom.  The XOXO sentiment is from the All Occasion Sentiment set.  And the sketch is the Guest DT sketch for the month.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!

You Brighten My Day

I'm not great at "vintage" - but here's my take on it for the Flourishes challenge.  I figured seam binding, sponging, a button and some pearls had to help!! : )  The colors are from this week's Color Throwdown challenge, and the layout is this week's Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch.  I used two Flourishes sets... Summer Blossoms and Inside & Out: You.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Freshly Made Anniversary Card

Two posts today! : )  I had a chance to make a quick Anniversary card using the Roses are Red set by Flourishes and the Freshly Made Sketch for this week.  Simple and Sweet!

Thank U

I had fun playing along with the Color Throwdown as well as the MFT Wednesday sketch with this card.  I used a Pure Innocence stamp from MFT that I colored with prismacolors and got as close to the Throwdown colors as I had in my stash... although the darker green is VERY little... it's in the grass. : )

Thanks for stopping by!

All Your Cares

Just a pretty card today using the Roses are Red set from Flourishes and a scripture from Word Art Wednesday.  I was inspired by the sketch at Try Stampin on Tuesday, although I didn't follow it very diligently. : )  I made sure to use a circle, some pearls and a fishtail flag so I could enter it in this week's Flourishes challenge as well. : )

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hugs!

Every month My Favorite Things has a sketch challenge where the winner gets to join MFT as a Guest Designer for the next release.  Wouldn't that be so much fun???  My card for this month's challenge features the Pure Innocence stamp "4 Leaf Clover", which is my absolute favorite.  She's so easy to color and paper piece!  I used my prismacolor pencils to color her this time, and paper pieced her top - adding a little copic shadowing to make it look more 3-D.  The sweet little tag is the Notched Tag Die-Namics and stamp set.  SO sweet!  I don't use it nearly enough!  The little word "Hugs" is from the All Occasion Sentiment set that matched the PI stamps.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Now go join in the challenge!

Another Timeless Tuesday

This week's Timeless Tuesday challenge was a color challenge.  I inked up my favorite stamp from April Showers and colored it with copics.  Then matted it on some Kraft cardstock to make a simple Thinking of You card.  Isn't the sentiment pretty?  It's from another Flourishes set - Botanical Bookplate 2.  Don't you just love flower sets???  They are SO versatile!!  Oh, and I've already asked for seam binding ribbon in my stocking for next Christmas.  It is just AMAZING to work with and makes such pretty bows!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I always enjoy your visits and comments!

Heart in Bloom

I wanted to play this morning.  Usually when I make a card it is for a challenge at a certain stamp company, but sometimes it's nice to play with no company restrictions!  Enter Jen's Deconstructed Sketch!  I picked out one of my favorite stamps from my Flourishes order -- I adore pansies... don't they look like they have faces??? --  and colored it up with copics.  The dp is all from the MME Lavender pad - SO springy! - and the cardstock is Flourishes Ivory.  I used more of the luscious seam binding ribbon and my favorite Recollections border punch and stitching and little flags and... SIGH.... soooo pretty!  I'm going to toss this in the ring for the DT spot.  I love sketches!! : )

Here's the supply list...

Stamps: Flourishes Botanical Bookplates 2, April Showers
Paper: MME Lavender, Flourishes Ivory
Ink: Memento Black, Desert Sand
Accessories: Seam Binding Ribbon, SB Oval &Scalloped Oval, CB Dots EF, Latte Pearls, Recollections Border Punch, Copics

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday and Stamping on a Budget!!

How fun!  I had an unexpectedly free afternoon today, and I was able to play along with the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge which was to use something new.  EASY, PEASY!! : )  I pulled out a number of things from my HUGE BLESSING Christmas order and just played.  It was so much fun! I don't know about you, but my usual stamping order is a once-every-month-or-two $10-$20 purchase... if I can skim the $$ off of my grocery budget.  So to have the luxury of a whole box of things to play with (and things that were ON SALE, too!!!!) is SUCH a huge blessing to me!!!!   Anyway, after making my card base (with NEW Flourishes white cardstock) I layered it with some NEW MME Lavender DP.  The image was cut out with my NEW Bookplate Die and stamped with the pansies from my NEW Botanical Bookplates 2 set.  I also used the NEW Classic Tags dies to make my tag, and tied it all up with some Color Made Easy Seam Binding Ribbon from the Sunflower group.  I think it's Golden Rod... but I ordered three different yellows, so I'm not positive!!

Just a note for any of you who have to be budget conscious like I do.  One of the best things I did with this order was to try to buy things that mixed and matched.  I also looked ahead to the upcoming season when making out my list.  For example... I loved the winter and Christmas sets and paper, but I knew that shortly after Christmas I would be looking forward to spring, so I chose flowers and umbrellas with usable sentiments like "thank you" and "happy birthday to you" instead of the snowmen and Santas.  I tried to buy some very all-purpose dies that I knew I would use again and again, and I also bought coordinating pearls, seam binding ribbon (only $0.20 / yard!!!), and dp, that I knew would complement my stamp choices.  I rounded it out with a couple packs of the wonderful Flourishes cardstock, and now I have a completely coordinated playground that I can play in for a number of months. : )  Plus, now that I have some of the basics like dies and cardstock, I can use that $10 or $20 to buy some of the fun additions here and there that will expand my choices even farther!!

OK... that was off track, sorry!  Thanks for dropping by today... I'll see you in a day or two!

Blessings!

Love U

Here's my card for this week's My Favorite Things sketch challenge.  I used one of my very favorite Pure Innocence stamps - 4 Leaf Clover - and I played with the Teardrop Circle Dies and Baby's Breath Embossing Folder that I got for Christmas.  Thanks for stopping by!

A Release Week Challenge

I was SO blessed to get some Christmas money this year which let me place a nice sized Flourishes order and get some of the favorite things on my wish list.  One of the sets I got was Letters in Blossom and it was just perfect for the Love Letters Release Week Challenge.

I colored the "I" and "U" with copics and cut out a heart for the center, to make an
"I {heart} you" sentiment.  I added some handdrawn lines and a few rhinestones to follow the border of the square mats.  I can't wait to use the other sets I picked up!! : )
Happy Release Week!

A New Year

Hello friends!

I wanted to give my dear husband a thank you note for the lovely Christmas gifts he got me, so I used my "A Guiding Light" set by Flourishes and set about to follow the instructions for this week's Timeless Tuesday challenge.  I loved Ally Cope's pretty green card in this post, so I used the same elements in my layout and I followed the challenge of having the image fall off the edge of the panel.  I love how it turned out!
