Emery's Birthday

I'm going to  try to play along with the Viva La Verve sketches again this month.  Who knows, one of these days I might just win some stamps! :-)  This is the first sketch for August and it features the Plain Jane - Emery the Elephant, who I think is just as sweet as can be!!  The "Birthday Wishes" is from the Verve set "Birthday Phrases".  Doesn't Julee make some of the prettiest sentiment stamps???  Sigh!

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll see you in a day or two!

Just Playing

I was so pleased to be able to pick up a few stamps from Verve this month, so when they came in the mail, I just had to ink them up!  I ink the flower from Many Blessings with my black Memento ink, and then stamped it off once to make the flower lighter, since I wanted it in the background.  The Philippians 1:6 Plain Jane is stamped in Memento Rhubarb and the flower is colored with copics.  DP is from My Minds Eye... I'm almost running out of these packs.  I've loved them!!  The ribbon is from Clear Dollar Stamps and the Kraft cardstock is actually a recycled file folder.

I tried to follow the Taylored Expressions sketch... but my bow migrated north a little.  I hope that is ok!

Searching for my Mojo!

Hello friends!

Short and sweet today!  I colored up this sweet Whimsy and Stars digi to make a bright, summery card for the Mojo Monday sketch this week.  The paper is called ToodleLoo from The Angel Company, and  the sentiment is from TAC, too.

Thanks for stopping by today!

A Little More Verve

Here are a couple more cards that I made for the Viva La Verve challenge.  I was able to place a small order for a few more Verve Plain Janes the other day and I'm looking forward to getting them!!

Have a wonderful Monday!

A Garment of Praise

The Verve Diva Dare for this month is to make a card that features a sentiment and pretty paper.  This Plain Jane verse has become very special to me over the last little while, and it made me happy to be able to feature it on a card that would remind me of the goodness of the Lord on my behalf.

Have a blessed weekend!

Summer Nights

Hi all!  Are you having a good week?  I have an adorable image from KnK Designs to show you today. Isn't Juniper and his little steed adorable?  It makes me want to go watch old cowboy movies!  LOL!  I colored my image with copics and then used some prismacolor pencils for shading.   Be sure you stop over at the KnK Designs Blog and see the other adorable sets.  There are shooting stars, and making smores and more!

CHALLENGES:

Crafting for all Seasons:  Furry Friends
Paper Pretties:  Animals
Paper Variety:  Inspiration Photo
I used the colors of the puzzle pieces as my inspiration and tried to make my background paper fit together like a puzzle, too.

Papertake Weekly:  Hot, hot, hot

Mojo Monday on Saturday

Is it Christmas yet?  It seems like I can only wait until about July before I'm planning for Christmas and wishing for snow.  To help calm my winter cravings, I decided to make a Christmas card for this week's Mojo Monday challenge.  My wreath is made with a set called "Genuine Love" by Clear Dollar Stamps, and otherwise I think everything is just bits and pieces from my stash.  Here's a close up of some of the detail on the wreath...

 Thanks for stopping by today!

Hello again!

What a whirlwind of a week!  I'm still not sure if I'm coming or going. Monday was the 4th, Tuesday I left to go to Michigan with my parents for a funeral, Wednesday we came home, Thursday was the fair, and now it is Friday.  Needless to say, my "to do" list was UNTOUCHED for the week!  After I get this post up I'll be working on making a new one.  I can't seem to work off of the old one without simply feeling *way* behind.

For my cards today, I worked off of the Viva La Verve sketch challenges over on Splitcoast.  The first card uses the "Molly's Cupcake" digi from Whimsy and Stars, as well as a sentiment from Verve's "Circular Sayings".  Speaking of Verve sentiment sets, did you see the sneak peek of today's set??  I love it!

The next card is with the July Week 2 sketch and uses a Plain Jane of Proverbs 3:5.  There's a new Plain Jane of Phil 1:6 coming out tonight, too.  Too bad I'm on a spending freeze!  I guess I'll just have to add the sets I would like to my birthday wish list. :-)

Have a blessed day!  I'll be back when I've had another few minutes to stamp!

Blogging

I was looking back over my past five plus years of posts and seeing how my cardmaking has grown and changed in that time.  I remember starting my blog when I was a Stampin' Up demo.  I hoped to be a place that my customers could come and learn some new tricks or an easy card layout.  When I gave up my demonstratorship I kept up my blog because I was on my first design team (CC Designs) and a whole new world of "other stamps" was opening up before my eyes.   I've gone from no designer paper to lots, from decorative scissors to Nestibilities, and I've even started to play in the world of digital stamping.   And I've met some wonderful friends along the way.  So this card is for you.  No sketches, no challenges, just a fun card from my heart to say, "thank you" for coming along on my papercrafting journey.

Here's a pretty picture of the view from my backyard yesterday morning when I went out to walk the dogs.   The amazing beauty of God's creation is just breathtaking!

Blessings!

Release Party Challenges

I played along with a couple of the challenges at the Sweet N Sassy Release party last night...

First - a card with a friendship theme.  I chose Cocoa with flowers because he's one of my favorites.  Well, that and he was already colored.

The second challenge was to use the colors red, brown, and kraft.  I had this Cocoa digi printed out already, too, so I colored him according to the challenge and turned him into a quick card using a verse from the SNSS clear set "Amazing Grace".  Not thrilled on my coloring on this one, but I was in a hurry to get it done before the party ended so I could get two chances in the drawing for the free set. :-)

Have a blessed day!
